Effective 30 July 2026
RIPEDA Consulting Corporation (“RIPEDA”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA, SA 2003, c P-6.5). This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
RIPEDA is accountable for the personal information in our custody or control, including information handled on our behalf by our service providers (PIPA s. 5).
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for our compliance with this policy, and can answer questions about how your personal information is collected, used, disclosed or stored — including by our service providers.

When you submit our contact form, we collect the details you enter — your name, contact details, company, role, and information about your IT environment and what you need help with.
We use this to respond to your enquiry, understand your situation well enough to have a useful conversation, prioritise our response, and keep a record in our client management system. If you explicitly opt in, we also use your email address to send you updates.
When you browse the site, our hosting and security providers collect standard technical information such as IP address and browser type in the course of delivering and protecting the site. Our website analytics are cookieless — no cookies are set, nothing is stored on your device, and you are not tracked across other websites. Analytics tell us aggregate things like which pages are read; they do not identify you.
Please do not send us sensitive information through this form — including health information, financial account details or government identifiers.
By submitting the contact form you consent to the use described above. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer. Withdrawing consent for marketing updates does not affect our ability to respond to an enquiry you have already made.
We may use AI-driven data enrichment, based on publicly available information, to help us assess and prioritise enquiries. A person at RIPEDA reviews every enquiry — no decision affecting you is made solely by automated means. We do not authorise this information to be used to train artificial-intelligence models.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.
We use third-party service providers — for website hosting, security, client relationship management, the automated assessment described above, internal notification and analytics — and some of these operate outside Canada. Your personal information may therefore be collected, used, disclosed or stored outside Canada, where it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and regulatory authorities under the laws of those countries. We contract with these providers on terms requiring them to protect the information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
You can obtain our written policies and practices regarding our use of service providers outside Canada — including the countries involved and the purposes — by asking our Privacy Officer.
We use reasonable security arrangements to protect personal information against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or destruction (PIPA s. 34), including encrypted transmission and access controls limiting who at RIPEDA can view enquiry records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably required for the purposes described or as required by law, after which we destroy it or render it non-identifying (PIPA s. 35). Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are retained for 24 months.
If personal information in our control is lost or accessed without authorisation and there is a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta without unreasonable delay (PIPA s. 34.1) and notify affected individuals as required (PIPA s. 37.1).
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used, to correct anything inaccurate, or to withdraw your consent and delete it. Email info@ripeda.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and will respond within the time PIPA allows.
Please raise any concern with our Privacy Officer first so we can put it right. You may also complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta — oipc.ab.ca.
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
